The Peugeot 508 hasn’t been around all that long, having been introduced as a brand new model for the full-sized segment in 2011. It ultimately spawned an Estate version and a crossover-like vehicle quickly thereafter. Now 6 years later on, it’s about time for something fresh. The 2018 Peugeot 508 will ride on Peugeot’s new EMP2 platform, which is also discovered under the 308 and C4 Picasso. More significantly, however, is the fact that it’s general design is changing so much that it will actually look more like a four-door coupe than a conventional sedan. Motivation will originate from a range of fuel and diesel engines, and there’s a plug-in hybrid being planned also.
2018 Peugeot 508 Design
On sides, I cannot help however think Peugeot is trying to troll Dumbo here. I suggest, exactly what is going on with those really long mirrors? They extend from the corners of the doors for exactly what looks like permanently, which doesn’t always look bad but isn’t exactly attractive at this point, either. The door trim panels appear like they have been remodelled. From the look of things, the armrest is more angled than previously. I need to question if this will really make the armrest easier or more comfortable to use, but it does enable a larger storage location down below. And, from what I can make it, it looks like there’s a digital instrument cluster ahead of that steering wheel. It could simply be a large, horizontal screen between analog evaluates, however we can’t make that much out. For that, we’ll simply need to wait and see. With any luck, the infotainment display in the center stack will be bigger, and less recessed, and could even provide some form of gesture control. Phone connectivity should be a basic feature throughout the line.
2018 Peugeot 508 Engine
Because the 508’s introduction back in 2011, it has actually been used with a range of gas and diesel engines. That’s not anticipated to change with the 2018 Peugeot 508, however, what engines will be is still a mystery as of the time of this writing. In current form, the 508 can be had with a 1.6-liter gas mill that’s great for 162 horsepower, a 1.6-liter diesel mill that’s excellent for 118 horse power, a 2.0-liter diesel great for 147.5 horse power, or a 2.0-liter helpful for 178 horse power. The latter of which is the only option offered for the range-topping 508 GT. A six-speed handbook can be had for those who want to row their own, while those who choose a more automatic experience can choose the EAT6, six-speed automated.
2018 Peugeot 508 Debut
We anticipate to see launching the 2018 Peugeot 508 sometime in next year. Thinking about the 2018 Peugeot 508 is set to be sportier and more large, it’s rather most likely that prices will increase throughout the board a bit. It should not leap much but expect to pay a bit more than exactly what you would if you bought a current model at this point in time.
